Joined Salford University Business Services Ltd in April 1986 to run the
North West Microelectronics Awareness Programme on behalf of the DTI and local
authorities. The NWMAP project and other similar technology transfer programmes
involved contact with 1000 small and medium size companies and a variety of
industrial and commercial problems and their solutions.
Responsibilities included developing a project management role in technology
based contracts, mainly in collaboration with the University's IT Institute and
Department of Surveying, and generally IT related.
Appointed the company's IT manager, responsible for a network of 45 PC's
expanding to a 70 user LAN / WAN and bespoke data-base development on SUBS
contracts. Seconded to the DTI’s Regional Office in Manchester to assist with
their data-base systems. |
